This form of theatre emerged in the early 1700s and spoke mostly about how woman were subordinate in society and culture and how they could change that for themselves. It focused on how woman did not have to live in the shadows of their husbands and encouraged all women during the period to be their own person. Many feminist groups were created during this time, and feminist theatre got lots of recognition because of it. I believe Trifles was a feminist play because the woman at the end did not subject to the men and reveal their secret. Though this play was written before the time of the emergence of Feminist theatre, it did possess the notion that woman did not have to do all that they were expected to do by their husbands.
